Change of plan – I’m
Change of plan - I'm going to cut over to the Movable Type version of the site probably next weekend. I'm working on a change of style for the site (though not the blog). Rather than having everything hang off the main journal page, I want the journal to be a part of a wider site, so I'm restructuring and reorganising, and I haven't had time to do all of that this weekend. I'll discuss the reasons for the shift between now and then.
More DIY Madness today - further shelving and mirrors are now up on my walls, and a great sense of accomplishment has settled over the place. Now I'm going to make dinner and settle down with The League of Gentlemen Series 2.

Dave has solved a mystery
Dave has solved a mystery for me - I was trying to find out what the song is that Vodafone have been using in their TV ads recently - the ones with the captions over people doing everyday stuff like jumping of cliffs. It's Bohemian Like You by The Dandy Warhols. A cracking listen. Thanks for that Dave.
In about week three of
In about week three of this blog, I posted on what I promised myself would be the dullest subject I'd ever cover, laying a new bathroom floor. Today, I may be competing with that - because I put shelves up.....
To be fair to me, it wasn't straightforward, I had to saw odd angles to fit them in and stuff, but it is dull. Still, I've been meaning to do them for ages. It means I finally have some extra space, and can ditch some boxes of stuff that have been cluttering the place up pretty much since I moved in, and all those Buffy and Angel videos look very smart, lined up on the shelf together.
I've also found some bits and pieces that I don't want any more, so once I've finished going through everything, I'll offer anything surplus to anyone who wants it.

I’ve been working on the
I've been working on the best way to write this up: On Wednesday night at Ted's birthday do, I found myself in the same place as someone who used to be a good friend, but with whom I hadn't spoken for over a year, since things had become rather weird between us. I've known that we'd inevitably meet again, as we have some friends in common, and funnily, I spent all last week convinced that II would see her at another birthday event on Saturday.... But for some reason I hadn't expected to see at Ted's, so it was a real shock. The good thing about suddenly being confronted with her (we had a brief conversation that was, I suppose, civil), is that any possible doubt that I had that ending that particular entanglement was a good thing (and there wasn't much) is well and truly gone. I'm so much better off not dealing with her weirdness.
I think I’m about to
I think I'm about to abandon Blogger. I've been reluctant to do so, because I have a certain sense of loyalty arising from them being my first Weblogging partner, but as a tool, it's slightly restrictive. Courtesy of Chris (Carline), I've now discovered Movable Type, and am starting to love it like a brother. I think I'll take a moment over the weekend to change over.

Grrrrrr..... I appear to have lost my mobile phone. I'm not convinced it wasn't picked from my jacket pocket last night, but I doubt I'll ever know for certain.
Anyhow - The upshot of this is that I've lost all the numbers that I stored in it. Most of them I should have in my PDA, but just in case, if I had your number, can you let me have it again? I'll note here where I'm re-phoned, by the way.

Things you don't see very often: On the tube into town for Ted's birthday do this evening, a man got on board with a loudhailer slung over his shoulder, and started asking if anyone was into Christianity.
I've not been blogging much lately because I've been very busy during the days and very knackered at night - I'm hoping to have a long weekend, so some catching up will hopefully follow.

It's madness! It's search requests! No fewer than five separate variations on Kylie/Kermit and other elements to do with their joint performance (Blogged here) have appeared in my traffic logs - can the buzz about that performance really have become so entrenched? Also, "lucifer and picture and wtc" and "world trade center picture of lucifer" have appeared, drawing, clearly, on the link to the Lucifer comic on the left. Gotta love the way Google mashes together elements from all over the page.
