I could discuss the logical fallacies in your position (like the assumption that not having sex changes one’s sexual determination – if that was the case, I wouldn’t be gay anymore just because I haven’t had sex for – you know, I’m not going to talk about that, it’s too depressing), but they’re so self-evident it’s not worth it.
So I’ll just say that I speak as I find and I just extrapolate from personal experience. I’ve known three Catholic priests in my life, and slept with two of them. So in my experience, it’s quite a high proportion

The funny thing is, that if you take away the first and last sentences of AOL User’s devout’s rather pitiful tirade, it actually reads like something one of you lot might write as a piss-take. But with them? It’s just nasty.

Having spent 11 years at catholic school (and survived) it is clear that in general they are afraid of sex. Celibacy being a good protection against it. I don’t know why they are afraid of it, maybe it is the dark holes that cause all the anxiety (unlike el Gato). Perhaps it is the belief that all sex is catamite pederasty that puts the willies (pun intended) up your average Joseph Q Churchgoer. Given the scandals that persistently catch the Romans out I am starting to think that it IS all catamite pederasty in fact.
Anyway, the thing that I best remember from all those bible studies was a passage in Mark 12 about which is the most important commandment (10 being too many to keep in mind at all times). The answer being the core of the Christian message. ‘Love God above all things and treat your neighbour as yourself, this beats any number of cash gifts to the church for heavenly access.’ I’m paraphrasing but you get the message I hope. Those verses define the difference between the Christian movement and the churches for me.
Anyway, by my reckoning, Devout is about as far from being Christian as one can get.
