With the shock news that Aaron Sorkin is leaving The West Wing, I have what I will modestly call a genius suggestion:
Joss Whedon has remarked on many occasions that he considers Sorkin a genius and TWW a dream series - so as he's now down two of his three previous productions, why not offer to step into Sorkin's shoes?
This would, beyond question, represent my idea of televisual heaven

Joss, I love BtVS and i’m obsessed with it, as all the others here are. I just need to get this out of my system,I loved up to season 6 but I stopped watchint it as much after Tara died. Why did you shoot her? She was my faveroit person on the whole show. I know it’s stupid to be so obsessed with a t.v show but I was in tears after the happy beginning you gave it. Well Jon, it happened, your show was cancelled. Firefly was cancelled. I don’t have the slightest clue why. Fox does things to good shows and I am sorry for that. I loved it. Jayne, Wash, the Captain. It was all good. I will go ahead and say it was better than Angel, but not as good as Buffy of course. I can only hope you will try again to bring it back to life without a movie. I’d rather watch 5 seasons of Firefly than 2 hours. And please don’t make a show called “Spike: The Vampire” It would be degrading….

I am in love with Buffy the Vampire Slayer as well as Angel. Joss Whedon has a wonderful mind and is a credit to whatever network his work is on. I had a question and am trying to get it answered, even though it is a kind of silly question. So, here goes. Is there a real Sunnydale? Or, rather, is the Sunnydale from Buffy the Vampire Slayer based on a real town somewhere? Joss, I notice everyone is commenting about BtVS, yet I myself have a request reguarding Angel. Since watching the begining of Buffy to the 101st ep of Angel, my favorite couple has always been Angel and Darla. Lets face it, season 2 of Angel kicked butt just cause of Darla being back. I know you guys thought “hey, lets kill her to give Angel a son,” that was great and unexpected, but please BRING BACK THE DARLA/ANGEL RELATIONSHIP! What would be even better is if Darla becomes a main character. Email me and we could talk about it even further.

I am disturbed by the wb’s recent cancellation of the popular show Angel. It is just like these tv networks to take a high rated show and can it before giving them a chance to end it the way Joss Whedon would want to end it. The ratings were up from season four and it puzzles me why the wb thinks that pulling the plug is going to keep their network alive. With only one decent show left on the wb, Smallville I see that network as a failure now. My hopes for the show Angel is that maybe another network will pick it up but I have a feeling the dark avenger has seen his last season on any network, unfortunately.

I just learned of WB’s cancellation of Angel and I am completely crushed! I was wondering if Joss had any plans to continue the show on another station – perhaps UPN – like he did with Buffy?
I wrote a letter to the WB stating my lack of respect for them and would hope every loyal fan will do the same.

Mr. Joss Whedon: if you happen to see this, I just want you to know that I think the WB is IGNORANT for cancelling Angel. It’s bad enough Buffy is gone, but now they’re kicking off Angel! What a rip. Personally, I think you should take it to a different, BETTER network that recognizes quality, intelligent shows like the ones you create. I love you and your work, and there’s not a day goes by that at least one song from OMWF doesn’t stick in my mind. Thank you, Mr. Whedon, for all the joy you’ve given me.

I am an aspiring writer and director, and am currently trying to contact Joss Whedon to pitch several ideas to him concering what I like to call the “Buffyverse.” The world Whedon has created is unlimited in potential and I respect his work, but with the close of Angel is looks as if FOX will drive the “Buffyverse” into the ground, ceasing any attempt to revive his creation. I feel to keep this story going, it is time for this universe to move to new locations, new characters, and new time periods. I feel that my original ideas with Whedon’s imagination and contacts in the entertainment industry can give the “Buffyverse” a new perspective that will prolong this realm. Please, if you have any means for me to send scripts to Mr. Whedon, i.e. e-mail, address (home or work), etc, I would be much obliged and hope that my efforts will one day bring back the glory Buffy once held over America.

I have a great idea for a Buffy/Angel spinoff, set in a parallel dimension where the cast are made entirely of cheese. Rather than blood coursing through their veins, liquid gorgonzola takes its place. Rather than stakes, fondue sets, etc.

she must joint a gouvernement unity composed by caracters who had ever met the aliens, and find where the aliens are coming from.

I have a question, or a proposal, for you concerning Angel and the Shanshu prophecy. (I hope I spelled that right.) Bare with me. . .I know that everyone is big about Angel recieving the reward at the end of the Apocalypse, but I think the prophecy has greater potential somewhere else. You know that one word, the one that means both life and death, the one Wesley interprets as meaning someone will live, or die, or become human. . . .What if that prophecy actually refers to someone who no longer exists amongst the living and the dead, someone who is completely, and unretrievably destroyed? I don’t think Angel nor Spike would mind if that person got the reward. Besides, they could become human through some other means if they truly wanted to become weak and unable to fight evil.
Some people say this idea is a stretch, but I think it could work.
I think you are incredibly creative, and a genious at storytelling as well as the writers, producers, and actors (etc) you work with. I trust that you will find a way to make all this work out well. I wish you well with it.

i was just on http://www.bbc.co.uk/buffy and i read an article that said about the finale of Angel. It said that Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy Summers) won’t be appearing in it. Is it true? I think that an ending without Buffy for Angel is a “crappy” ending.

Joss! I can’t believe this site’s here! You’re so cool to let us all just tell you what we think of your stuff.
I loved Buffy, and I love Angel! And I’m so excited about the Firefly movie!
Can I ask something? How do you come up with such great ideas all the time? Everything about Buffy was genius – even when you introduced Dawn and I thought you’d lost it, you made it all work, and by the time the series ended I even thought Dawn The Vampire Slayer would have made a great spin off!!!
Since it looks like Tru Calling won’t be back next season this is probably the perfect time to call up Eliza Dushku and offer her her very own Buffy spin off. You could bring back some of the Buffy and Angel regulars and create a whole new situation for then to fight the bad guys in. It could be the best of all your worlds. Except Firefly of course, but that would be a tough one to pull off. Though I know you could do it if you tried. Actually, vampires in space would be a really cool idea, and you could make them alien vampires too. I mean, I know there aren’t aliens in Firefly but I bet you could work out a way to create alien vampires and then have Buffy and Angel and Faith get out there and dust them with the Serenity crew to back them up. Maybe Willow could work a spell to send them there.
Anyway, the other question I wanted to ask is if you can let me have David Boreanez’s email address? I really want to send him these poems I’ve written that are about him and the cool stuff he does in the show. He really makes me really believe he really is a vampire with a soul. Omigod! I just thought! He isn’t really a real vampire is he? ROFL!!!!
Though maybe that is how he makes it all seem so real.
Anyway Joss, I love your shows, and I want you to know that I’ll be watching whatever your next show is as soon as it’s on air. You’re a genius you know, and I tell all my friends that you are.

Hi Joss! Well, first of all, I think Buffy and Angel are, undoubtedly, THE best shows EVER!!!
I am refusing to watch any more WB shows now that they have cancelled Angel, they are fools! Millions of people, including myself, are outraged and there are God knows how may petitions going on to save Angel(I have signed all the ones I’ve come across, by the way), and I also wrote an angry letter to the WB, stating that they are complete idiots, and that you should run that bloody station, then we’d get soem quality shows on there! Plus we’d get to keep the hunky Angel to grace our screens. As far as Sarah Michelle Gellar goes, I absolutely loved her on Buffy, but I think that Angel has moved on(Well, as much as he can, cos we all know those two were made 4 each other), but I was really saddedned that you decided to kill off Charisma Carpenter’s character, Cordy, because I thought Angel and Cordy made a great couple!
Now I just want to say, that over here in the UK, we have just seen Angel: “Smile Time”, and I LOVED it!!! AT LAST Wes and Fred got together! Aaaww, I thought it was sweet with Nina and Angel as well.
Now, I’m gonna stop, cos I’m just ranting, and i’ll probably start going repeat-o-girl, so the final thing I want to say is, keep making those great shows like Buffy and Angel, and the rest of them, and give em to another network(Not the WB, they just kill off obviously-great shows) and then, when the WB has to close down cos of low rating we can all say…”You shoulda taken on some of Joss’ genius creation!”

Well, this is a neat little place… I hope Joss does read this stuff… but I wish it was easier to find. Anyway, I wanted to mention how much I love Firefly.
First, it’s so original. The over-done lasers don’t exit, sound in space is what it really is in real life (null), the technology of the rim-worlds is way more accurate (in my opinion) than what most other sci-fi shows portray, and the no alien thing is really neat.
I really hope you can find a way to get a complete season, or another season, aired. Even if you didn’t, I bet if you filmed episodes and put them in a dvd series, I bet a lot of people would buy them. Also, you could be flexible on the time of each episode, since you don’t have to consent to annoying TV producers… that story that takes 74 minutes can stay 74 minutes! So it’d be like mini movies. Any way you can keep Firefly from dieing would make my year.
I’m looking forward to the movie. I hope it’s as good as the show!

I was thinking that I want to go original here, and tell Mr. Whedon that Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the greatest show I’ve ever watched. Pathetic, I know, but it’s been hard for me to watch Angel and Buffy after the third season when they split up. Living vicariously through their relationship you can imagine the emotional roller coaster of a time we avid fans have watching the slayer/vampire relationship.
Each year my friend and I have a Buffy fest (our most recent one we called Slayer fest ’04…again originality comes into play) Now that you’re ending Angel, I’m going to hope and pray you actually read these, and consider my request, no plea, alright I’m begging you to have Angel and Buffy end up together. What was it Angel said, “in 256 years I’ve loved exactly one girl,” or something of the sort. This is the only show I’ve ever watched with lessons in life, love, loss, full of inuendo’s that has had me laughing non stop, every episode. How you think of the commentary is beyond me, but as I’m sure you’ve been told it’s pure genious.
Give the masses what they want, end it with Angel and Buffy living happily ever after. Finally they’ve saved the world…multiple times, done their duty, and they have loved others but still love one another. I don’t care if the only way to do it is for Buffy to be vamped and they live eternally together, I’m resorting to begging here. Please please please, let true love come through. Don’t pull a Matrix on me; you’ve written the perfect story now let’s have a brilliant ending. Call it closure. We no longer have the show to watch, but we know they lived together. Humanize Angel, I’ll take anything, you’re the mastermind. I’m sincerely begging you.

So, I’ve writen a letter to Joss, but I dont know where to send it. I’ll post it here and look for somewhere to send it to him. It goes from a joke to serious.
Dear Joss, You rule. I hate you. Jossverse is my life, so I think I’ll kill myself. I hope you’re happy you ruined my life by ending Angel. And Buffy. Excuse me while I cry in a corner. I blame you for everything. You caused the 9/11 attacks, you caused the Holocaust. You made me die a tragic death. You killed off Anya, the only one that understood my extreme disliking for bunnies.
I hope you understand the severe emotional distress you have caused me. My imaginary friend has been born, and murdered, and my physiatrist tells me not to go outside too often, people will only ridicule me. My life is ruined, and it’s your fault. I have no one to confide in. Not only did you kill off Cordelia, you killed off my love for life. And Fred. I hope you enjoy the guilt trip.
I’ve been dreaming of the day that Angel would end. It also involved blood. My blood. Spurting out of my head like the peoples in Kill Bill. You have single handedly ruined my life. I have nothing good to watch, and I haven’t seen Angel being filmed yet. And no more looking at Spike, or other hotties in the show. No more Andrew, no more Faith. No more self righteous Buffy, and no more whiney Dawn.
Nothing to laugh at sadistically, and nothing to stare at in awe. No more piles of dust of what used to be great evils. No more apocalypses. Nothing new to see in the world of Vampires, my world. Nothing to wait for, and nothing to dull the pain of school. Nothing to look forwards to after finishing my dread filled lessons of piano. Wednesdays will be bare and cold with out Angel, and so will life.
I will have nothing left to talk to with my friend, Nick, and he will be driven into a homicidal craze. Don’t laugh, it’s true. He is already on the brink of self-destruction. The only things holding him back is Final Fantasy and Angel. You can’t imagine how many lives will be ruined by this decision. You have taken the lives of many, including Angel, Wesley, Lorne, Gunn, and the infamous Illryia.
But not only taking lives, you have given them. You’ve given a heartbeat to Joyce, to Giles, to Ethan Rayne, and to Andrew. You have given a pulse to Tara, to Amy, to Riley. You have given the life of a demon to Angel, and Spike, and Oz. Darla and Drusilla you have made soulless, Kate you have made smart, and Harmony you have made a failure, a funny failure, but a failure all the same.
The sanity of many rely on you, including my own. What new shows should I watch on Wednesdays now? ‘Gilmore Girls’? I scoff at their patheticness. Law and Order, bland and boring. Your ignorance makes me laugh. Angel is what keeps me going. Buffy is what was. I cannot be satisfied with re-runs forever. Buffy at 4, Angel at 9. My life is a schedule based around these shows.
Sure I skateboard, I snowboard, I play hockey with friends. I talk and I live, but my life would be shallow without these. I am a shell, much like Fred is. Wesley annoys me with his closed mind on Illryia, Angel amazes me with his eagerness to be with that Werewolf. Illryia with her human emotions, Gunn with his reluctances to leave his law smarts, and Lorne with his amazing voice.
So now I will leave you. This letter is done. It sounds like a poem, but it can’t be the only one. Now my life is empty. Meaningless too. I‚Äôm going to stop rhyming because it‚Äôs stupid and gay. Make another spinoff, please, one about Spike. He is awesome. Include Illryia, because she is amazing. Don‚Äôt leave me like this, my life on the line. I‚Äôm unstable. So please, just continue.

Joss didn’t end Angel, WB cancelled it. As we all know, WB is the champion of all things good. Just a moment while I take out the entire staff of WB with a gattling gun.
Here are some spin-offs I would love to see. Any one of these would be great.

That would be so cool. All about our favourite little wicca, how shes dealing with life, recruiting the new slayers, her power, and the evil within.
Supporting characters should include Xander, Giles, Kennedy and Faith. And a good big bad for them would be my own character, Loki, the first ever vampire. He looks human, but turns into a bat-like creature not unlike the one in chaos bleeds, but much more badass. Picture a male Glory with touches of Angelus.

Alien resurrection, the original, kicked ass. Someone fucked it up badly.
I just wanted to say, Fred and Spike should have got together. When Fred died, I found myself with Wesley. Not the drinking and caring for a smurf part, the sad part. Spike and Fred belong together. Spike and Buffy…I never really got into that, sorry.
Anyway, you rule, WB should be shot, you rule some more. ‘Hush’ was amazing. The gentlemen scared the shit out of me. Fittingly, I think, I didn’t scream, I just watched, terrified, with my eyes and mouth open.
To think that something like that is floating after me, and is going to take my heart, is just scary.

Joss, sorry to bug you, but I’m in a bit of a tight situation. I kinda splurged all my money from Angel at the races, and there was that one night when I flew all the crew to whorehouses in Bangkok on a private jet. Bottom line is I haven’t been doing too well financially since they ended the show, and I kind of need a place to stay for a bit. Do you mind if I crash on your couch? It’s only be for a short time, till I land the new “Green Lantern” TV show I auditioned for. Tom tells me superheroes are all the rage these days.

I’d just like to set the record straight once and for all; I will not be writing next season of The Sopranos, the producers disagreed with my idea of having Tony wake up in the body of a 22 year old girl for an episode and the hilarity that would inevitably follow.
So go out and buy my new comic, Astonishing Archie & Jughead, there’s some fantastic art by some guy who draws just like every other Archie artist in the universe!

This one’s for Carlos, I know he’s been hounding me for weeks now but I’ll finally lay this one down to rest: Spike will not Shanshu. Instead he moves to San Francisco to star in a spin-off sitcom by the WB where he is the grouchy landlord of a haunted apartment block, filled with wild and whacky tennants.
The pilot is being filmed as we speak and guest stars Lisa Kudrow as a forgetful zombie who cannot keep up the rent payments because half her brain is missing, much to Spikes frustration.
Hilarity just got some fangs, coming this fall to the WB.

The last episode of Angel was never aired, we’d filmed it but the WB decided they desperately needed to free up the space in order to squeeze in a show about kids dealing issues whilst listening to a lot of Jewel records.
What happened in the final episode was the systematic destruction of mankind, and the entire of Team Angel (or The Fang Gang as I prefer to call them) are eliminated, with the exception of Spike who leaves for the spin-off show I mentioned previously, and Illyria who spends her remaining days sat in a crater talking to a handpuppet of Wesley – in the original script it had called for Wesleys actual severed head to be used as the puppet but Alexis (Denisof) didn’t like the way his character was headed in that role and so was replaced by a small paper bag with some eyes painted on with some demons crushed eyeball goo.

Could you please tell me the origin of the Turok’Han? How old are they? Was the first 1 Buffy fought older and more powerful?
How do they relate to The Master? How old is The Master, surely he is about 3,000, older than 600? Is The Master more powerful than the Turok’Han, because leaving his Skeleton?
I know I’m asking a lot, but I’m really fascinated by the Vampires from the show, and their origins, etc..
The vampires from Buffy and Angel are the greatest ever.
If you do any further Buffy and Angel projects, could I suggest playing the Queen song, ‘Another One Bites The Dust’. That would be so cool in a Vampire themed project!

There is more money to be made from the characters Buffy and Angel. There is the Buffy audience, the Angel audience, and the new audience created through the DVD’s.
CREATE A JOINT SERIES ENDING. It can be one long episode, or multiple. It can have all the characters from both.
It will aslo satisfy all the fans who feel betrayed and let down by the inconclusive series endings and the trust that Buffy and Angel would one day be together somehow.
One of the interesting things is that on TV the shows lasted 8 years of elapsed time, on DVD they can last just a couple of months. When watched in quick sucession like that the promise and dynamic of the Buffy and Angel love is much more tangible and real. It is like reading an unfinished book. The end feeling is one of complete frustration.
But I realize this is about the money, so if you have two loyal audiences out there (Buffy and Angel) and a new audience created throught the DVD’s, strike while the iron is hot. There is money to be made here.
So pull it together. Find a way. Do it NOW!

Deborah is obviously unaware that Buffy followed the School semesters and always had a break during the summer vacations, hence Buffy’s long disappearance after the Angelus season.
So Deborah, if you watch with some wits about you you’ll notice it covers 7 years, 7 complete years. Buffy and Angel have had four years to get over it, I suggest you do the same.

I am a huge fan of Buffy, and hope that soon she will be back on the screen, I think you need to remake the original film, I cant stand to have Kristy Swanson in my DVD collection it just isnt right.
I would like to attend a convention in the UK if possible however I am having no joy finding one, perhaps you could advise when the next one is?

Buffy and Angel are the best show I have ever seen on TV. Because of my satalight being cut off for four years I missed alot of Angel and Buffy. To solve this problem me and my bro bought the entire series of Buffy season by season. we also have the first two seasons of Angel and working on getting the rest. While reading these messages it upset me to hear angel going off.
But I loved Buffy the vampire slayer more than Angel and my main reason for posting is I would like to see an eighth season of Buffy. My favorite character on that is willow.
I am going out of my mind because Buffy is over. I would really like to see what happens to Buffy and the scoobies after the seventh season. It would be neat to see them at the new hellmouth in Clevland.
Or please do a spinoff with Kendra or Willow or even faith. Or you can get buffy defending different dimesions now since their is enough slayers on earth.
For example have willow send Buffy to different hellish dimensions to free tormented innocents because the other dimensions is destroying earth. Or something like that.
By the way Joss you are a genius. If you do a spin off or a season eight it should have willow and kendra in it because it gives a hint of magic that everyshow needs.

Not sure what this site is, or if Joss Whedon actually sees it. But I wanted to find a way to tell Joss that I admire what he and the whole cast, crew and fans brought to Serenity.
I have never seen an episode of Firefly, I admit it. One of those things I just never heard about. And I only just saw Serenity today. As soon as I put this on I could see the love and ‘family quality’ all you guys brought to the film. To make it despite all the odds. It’s inspiring, and if I can breathe life into at least one story in my life like you have, I’ll be happy.
If I had discovered Firefly and Serenity earlier I would have voiced my support. I know for sure now that I will be picking up the Firefly DVD’s to see the gem I have missed. I hope it’s not too late to congratulate you all on what you’ve done with Serenity.

FIREFLY. that is one thing i belive that changed my world. the series was a phenomonon that touched the hearts of everyone. my favor to ask of you is that why have you not taken the money you got from SERENITY why havent you put it into use be ether making another installment in FIREFLY or focusing on a possible other project. i am deeply saddended that you will proboby not read this but i just want you to know.
