Where Did All The Good TV Go?
I'm not sure I need to do more than ask the question. But to elaborate slightly:
The West Wing is dropped from the C4 schedule for no reason on a regular basis. That's after they messed around which day of the week it was on at the start of this season. Don't get me wrong - it's still great, but this almost seems calculated to make me wait for the DVDs.
The end of Buffy and Angel looms on Sky One.
24 - Day Two - meh.
If it wasn't for the prospect of the rest of the new season of Six Feet Under to look forward to, things would look pretty bleak indeed.
Note also that I look entirely to North America for the prospect of good TV. What's the best of the homegrown dramas? Oh look, they're bringing Spooks back next week. Must....try....to....stay....awake....

I noticed the West Wing thing… Do you think that they’ll move it again or will we have to wait until the end of *yawn* BB4 to see the rest of the season?

To be fair, it’s back next week, though probably only until something of a higher televisual standard (like that Celebrity Enemas thing I managed to avoid last week) needs scheduling.

Jon, I never took up your kind offer of videos of WW – unfortunately, for the reasons you stated, I am well past redemption and waiting for the DVDs.
My TV habits are currently 24, ER and Have I Got News For You. The pick of the rest recently was Life of Grime.
Interestingly, I tried watching The Great War, largely because I had been totally hooked on World at War. That was messed around with on the schedule – partly to do with Iraq, I think. Even though it was old telly, I’ve given up because it’s actually quite jingoistic and not frightfully good.
My parents were right. Books are better!

As a terrestrial-only viewer I’ve got a season of Buffy and at least two seasons of Angel to go, but otherwise I’m in much the same boat. 24 lost me several weeks ago, I drifted away from ER long before Mark Greene died, and there doesn’t even seem to be a superior US sitcom on terrestrial TV at the moment. The least said about the products of the UK industry the better.
Sad to say, other than the two programmes you’ve mentioned (plus Angel season 3 on Channel 5, but I’ve already watched that season on DVD) the three best programmes I’ll be watching over the next few months will all be on DVD: Babylon 5 season 2, Homicide: Life on the Street seasons 1 and 2, and Buffy season 6.
Oh well, it gives me plenty of time for web browsing, and I might even make a dent in my to-read pile…

There is no good telly. I’ve all but given up. My TV input has been reduced to minutes rather than hours.
Having said that, I have been downloading Buffy S7. Which is ace. But I’ve been watching that on the computer, so that doesn’t really count, does it?
