Speaking Of ITV
Here's a sentence I never thought I'd use: ITV look to be trying something actually different.
They're shortly going to be screening a couple of series which are paired in an unusual way across ITV1 and ITV2. Echo Beach will be a new soap opera shown on ITV2, which will be preceded on ITV1 by Moving Wallpaper, a behind the scenes series showing the making of the main programme.
So far, so Doctor Who Confidential, I hear you say. But the twist is that the 'factual' programme is also going to be fiction. Creative drive for the whole thing coimes from Tony Jordan. I'll admit I'm intrigued by the vision, though I worry for the execution.
