Alison - used to be a neighbour of Chris's, and we've been friends since then. Bravely, Alison has been on holiday with me and shared a room with my snoring, which is really above and beyond the call (though hers is worse). One horribly drunken evening she was forced to admit to rummaging in my washbag, after revealing rather too much knowledge of my preferred brand of condoms.
Barnaby - is someone I've knows since two jobs ago, now working for us in the new company. We also shared an apartment for several months when we were both based in New York, and consequently I know all sorts of dirt about him that I'm forbidden to divulge under the terms of The Roomie Code(tm).
Chris - what can I say about Chris? Former partner and one of the best people I know - warm, generous, immensely loyal, and very forgiving, which is just as well, given the Hell I occasionally put him through. Those of you who know him know what I mean - the rest of you should just trust me on this one. Chris and I have joint custody of Dillon.
Damien - Lovely bloke, if a little too fond of guns for my wholehearted comfort (you can't see his site for the scary pictures anymore, because he's gone all shy) - presently domiciled in New York with Linda and recently blessed with child - the entirely too-cute-for -his-own-good Ethan. Damien is what would be known in the East End as a diamond geezer. Prone to calling me from the US and asking me to do small administrative favours like getting hold of a copy of his divorce decree so that he can get married again...
Dave - is one of the team with whom I've started the new company. Dave and I once spent a mildly insane afternoon in New York holding up a Lotus 'I Am' postcard like the people in the 'I Am Superman' ad. If you've never seen the ads, you can get a sense of what the hell I'm talking about here.
Gerard - yet another veteran of two jobs ago, also now free - looks, as was pointed out by his best man, like Sam the American Eagle from the Muppets - which is a bit unfair, but only a bit. For a while had the distinction of being the only person I was aware that I knew to have had a fractured skull. But it turns out Barnaby's had one too. Gerard supports Sunderland FC, so in the spirit of not kicking a man while he's down, I won't say any more.
Louise - Used to work with me in 'old' media when I was working on the cheapest TV show in history :-) Now she works for big, serious ITN, which has to represent progress. Puts the lie to all those jokes about Australians being big drinkers. No wait, what am I saying????
Simon - Oldest mate in the world, and currently living in the US, where he's a University Professor. We lost touch for quite a few years until one of those Friends Reunited moments put us back in touch in 2001, and things picked up pretty much where they left off. Married to the lovely Kim, and currently engaged in writing a book. (Me, jealous?)
And a cast of, er, several. All of whom will no doubt appear here in time.....
