Near Miss

So I was almost hit by a car this morning. No, I'm fine - there wasn't an actual impact, but that's only because I literally leapt onto the pavement.

At the moment of the near-collision, the driver of the car, who seemed blithely unaware that he'd come anywhere near an accident, was flicking the ash from his cigarette out of the window while talking into a mobile phone that was held between his head and his shoulder, while turning a corner.

Stupid fucker.

i *hate* people like that, and see it all the time on the cycle to (and from) the office....

the other ones i like are those that are reading the paper, putting on the slap, doing up their tie and the best i've seen is someone shaving...

I used to drive a tipper for a living many years ago and what you describe is nothing compared to some of the things I've seen having a higher viewpoint looking down into a car.
Yes I seen the slap going on and the shaving trick, but I've also seen women putting on tights, blokes taking them off, and no end of passengers giving head whilst doing 70 around the M25. No wonder there are so many accidents on that Motorway in the mornings, everyones mind (or hands) is on everything else but driving.
